A legacy of faith. A future of hope.
Founded in 1765, Trinity Lutheran Church has been a faithful presence in Stephens City for more than 260 years.
Located today at 810 Fairfax Street, Trinity has long been a place where people gather to worship, grow in faith, and support one another through every season of life.
Throughout its history, the church has remained rooted in the love of Christ—adapting and growing while continuing its mission to serve the community and share the Gospel.
As we honor the generations who came before us, we also look ahead—continuing to build a welcoming, Christ-centered community for today and the future.
Our story is still being written—and you are invited to be part of it.

More Than 260 Years of Faith, Service & Community
Since sixteen German Lutheran families first gathered in faith in 1765, Trinity has witnessed the birth of a nation, served through times of war and peace, rebuilt and expanded its home, and remained a steadfast presence in the Shenandoah Valley. While buildings have changed and generations have come and gone, our mission has remained the same—to share the love of Christ through worship, fellowship, hospitality, and service.
Today, Trinity continues that legacy by caring for our neighbors, partnering with our community, and welcoming all who seek a place to belong. As we preserve and uncover our congregation's rich history, we're reminded that every generation has helped write this story—and every new member becomes part of the next chapter.

History Still Being Discovered
Our story is still unfolding.
One of my favorite things about Trinity is that you're still discovering your history.
Volunteers are carefully preserving historical documents, photographs, handwritten records, manuscripts, and artifacts that have been tucked away for generations. Every box opened and every document preserved helps tell the story of the faithful people who built this congregation.
