The Virginia Synod of the ELCA had its annual “business” meeting at Roanoke College in Salem, VA, June 10-12, 2016. Roanoke College is an ELCA College and the team name is “Maroons”. But what is a “maroon”? Who knows? As you can see though, the mascot is a bird of prey!
